Psa 72:18 declares, “Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.” And Ps 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
God’s creation of heaven and earth is a remarkable demonstration of awesome power, unimaginable intelligence, immense size, and a display of complexity and beauty that defies description. And no wonder that we see these characteristics in creation. Romans 1:20 explains, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
This passage and even creation itself are worth pondering for a moment to consider what invisible things we can see of God in His creation. David tells us that he did this saying in Psalm 143:5, “I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.”
In what ways are the invisible things of God seen in creation? Characteristics of creation express the thoughts and qualities of the Creator: The incomprehensible immensity of creation shows the incomprehensible immensity of God; the constancy of laws such as gravity and thermodynamics reflect the immutability of God; the inescapable presence of such laws anywhere at any time reflect the omnipresence of God; the complexity in creation’s design shows the astounding intelligence of God; the vast variety of in creation shows the vast creative ability of God, the painful consequences of violating creation’s laws or designs show God’s integrity and consistency to establish order; and the laws of thermodynamics indicate that God must have created all things. Creation shows us a God who is eternal in power and being, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnificent. He is just and unchanging. And evidence in our creation shows us that He is personal, loving, and compassionate.
There is no excuse not to know God. There is no excuse to reject God. There is evidence all around to convince anyone honest enough to consider it that there is indeed a personal, omniscient, omnificent, omnipresent God who made this world.
Do you know Him? Just as there are real laws in the physical world, there are real spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God. The two most important are found in Romans 8:2, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
If you sin you, you die. But if you surrender your life to Christ and accept His gift of salvation, you live. What choice have you made?
